Ulysses S. Curry, Jr. – Founder & Managing Director

With over 30 years of leadership in C-Suite management, underwriting, and portfolio management, Ulysses S. Curry Jr. has successfully closed over $1 billion in structured debt and equity transactions across public and private markets, including venture and distressed enterprises.

As the Founder and Managing Director of Cogent Capital Strategies, LLC, he also serves as a Senior Partner at Vantera Partners (Newport Beach, CA) and an Associate Venture Fellow at VU Venture Partners (San Francisco, CA).

Previously, he held key roles such as:

  • Chief Financial Officer at Accuray, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARAY)
  • Interim CEO of ZVUE Corporation (NASDAQ: ZVUE)
  • Investment banking & advisory roles at Cogent Growth Capital and Ascendiant Capital
  • Credit Officer at major financial institutions, including Bank of America, Citicorp, TransAmerica Capital, Xerox Credit Corp., and Union Bank of California

Ulysses holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a BA in Economics from Bishop College, Dallas, TX. He has also previously held Series 7 and 63 FINRA licenses.
